Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. At the age of five and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in her first Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she was taught acting and singing. From the age of 10 the actress took part in and performed the main role in several Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie version to J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the first time in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through eight consecutive auditions. Emma's debut on the big screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which was released in 2001. The most successful film of 2001, the film set records for its opening day opening and opening weekend takings. Critics have praised both the film and the performance of the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the film.
